In response to Tsabary, happiness comes from exterior experiences. “Happiness may come out of your Bentley or your cute spouse,” she notes. “And due to this fact, when your Bentley breaks down or your spouse leaves you, you are like, ‘I am not joyful anymore.’”
Joy, alternatively, stems from inside: “Pleasure comes from solely dwelling within the second,” she says. You don’t want any objects or experiences to embrace the current second, which makes pleasure a way more highly effective drive.
That’s why, in keeping with Tsabary, happiness is a short lived expertise, whereas pleasure is everlasting: “Happiness is transient, as a result of something obtained from the exterior world is ephemeral. However pleasure is between you and your connection to your genuine current second. That’s as everlasting as something may be.”
