Blood Pressure : How to Walk to Lower Blood Pressure

My name is Dwayne Kelsey and I’m a nurse practitioner with well life a diabetes clinic and educational resource center located in Raleigh North Carolina and we will be discussing how to lower your blood pressure by walking just something as simple as walking can lower blood pressure

We have enough research to support that walking along with any other aerobic activity can lower your blood pressure and one thing that we have to remember it doesn’t necessarily have to be in a 30-minute increment you can do 10 minutes in the morning ten minutes in the evening ten minutes whenever you can do fifteen minutes here fifteen minutes there so it doesn’t necessarily have to be this 30-minute set amount of time it can be done throughout the day research actually states that we should be exercising and if walking is what you do for exercising great but we should be exercising about four to five times a week

Our recommendation is that we have to exercise seven days a week because it’s just good for the general health it’s just good for the heart it’s good for every organ in our body to exercise when we start seeing the lowering of blood pressure and even the lowering of blood sugar that actually can happen very quickly when a patient is consistent when a patient is consistent with whatever activity they choose for exercise that was basic information make sure to consult with your health care provider
